Business
Times are tough – this is no secret. Nurturing our local business communities is now more important then ever before.
An environment needs to be created within our community that is business friendly. Overtaxing should not be a threat to potential business owners and hiring local employees should not deplete a business owner’s profit margin. Businesses are moving to different states and reducing staff in order to avoid overtaxing.
Our community needs good corporate citizens to invest in our future. Employees should earn fair living wages and know what it is like to finish an honest day’s work. They should feel that their work has helped their local community and that they are treated fairly.
A sense of permanency, security and belonging will naturally evolve over time among these employees. When employees are satisfied with their contributions to the community they will continue to contribute without even noticing; such as buying a home and shopping at other local businesses.
Outsourcing keeps nipping at our coat tails and we have to keep up. Creating a sense of secure business in our local community is what I plan to salvage and evolve.
